This year’s event, the 23rd annual, will be held in the comfort of your home! You will be able to join the event on October 21st by using a link sent after you purchase a ticket. The gala will go live around 6:30 with pre-event information, and the real fun starts at 7:00 PM. You can watch on any device. We won’t keep you on a screen for hours; in all, the entire broadcast is expected to last about 90 minutes, including pre-event and post-event information.
This year, ticket purchases are online or by mail using the reply card in the mailed invitation. If you need help, please call 734.337.3338.
After purchase, you will receive an acknowledgment/receipt for your ticket. In the days leading up to the event, you will receive an email with the link to the October 21st gala.
When purchasing your ticket, you can add a Celebration Bundle from our friends at Bundled. The Celebration Bundle includes a fun spread to enjoy during the event, and a commemorative 50th-anniversary cutting board. The Celebration Bundle will be mailed to each guest who chooses the add-on, and it will arrive in time for the event if ordered by October 10th, 2021.
Our traditional auction is the highlight of our traditional event and is always anticipated. This year, we simply want to thank those businesses and individuals who donated to our successful auction block last year. With all of the upheaval they are experiencing, we’d like to encourage you to support them directly. Please see the list at this link.
Each one of the Honorary Storytellers is eager to share their literacy story with you. They are each building separate web pages that will include photos. They are also asking friends to give support to Washtenaw Literacy or have challenged others to match their gift.
There will be multiple ways to support Washtenaw Literacy’s programs, including giving online and mail-in opportunities with printed invitations. Or, read through the Honorary Storytellers stories, and support their goals!
